Hello, let us introduce

We are Mathé and Yvonne van den Broek and our Bull Terrier kennel affix is “Off Daikini”. About 20 years ago we were infected with the virus that enclosed the Bull Terrier in our hearts and minds. And we never got cured,
simply because we don’t want to.

Our kennel can at best be described as a small home-based kennel where our dogs live together with us in our home. We aim for the highest possible standard of quality in our line-breeding and not for quantity, using Dutch and British bloodlines. Our bitches are only used for breeding for a maximum of two litters and we always breed according to the breeding regulations of the Dutch Bull Terrier Club and the Dutch Kennel Club. Our stud dogs will only be mated to suitable bitches. Above that we aim for good health, social behaviour and the highest possible approximation of the breed standard. Breed improvement and not breed expansion is our motto!

We also strive for the best possible relationship with the people who we grant a Bull Terrier from our kennel. This might sound exaggerated, but we are very selective where our Bull Terriers find their home. To us every Daikini Bull Terrier that leaves our home, will stay ours, even if they live elsewhere. That is why we will always give the best possible after care and assistance wherever and whenever needed. To us this is a normal part of breeding bull terriers, not to walk away from your responsibility as a breeder, never. Show careers are nice and also necessary to get an objective image of our current status of breeding, but what is a champion without a good home? A kennel dog without a life! Without good Bull Terrier people, to us there is no use for breeding.

With a total of only 11 litters in 20 years we have bred a total of 9 Dutch champions and 1 Australian champion. Besides that, most of our Bull Terriers have proven themselves at several club events and other dog shows in Holland and abroad, including the homeland of the Bull Terrier, England. Several show-careers of our Bull Terriers are listed in the following pages. But above all, our Bull Terriers are lovely companions!

People asked us many times why we did not have a website to promote our kennel. We were a bit reluctant to start a website because we are not always amused about the way some people create a website and display their dogs. And we don’t want to be associated with that. But still we have decided to build this website, just because we are so proud of our achievements so far and are also proud of the people who take this good care of our Bull Terriers. We also want to make a statement with this site and give you a view at our future.
We have seen the most beautiful sites, displaying dogs better than they are for real. Everybody knows that since digital photography has entered our world, there are no boundaries where it comes to editing pictures. The most beautiful dogs are displayed in a negative way and lesser dogs that are displayed in a way as if they are world-conquerors. Appearances are deceptive, they say…..

Of course, the real connoisseurs will see the difference, knowing what the pictured dogs are real like. But what will the starting breeders and potential puppy-owners think when they see all of this? With all do respect, there is a big chance that they will be deceived by all of this digital enforcement. High expectations are not met and we only have to wait until the first problems will arise. Much can be seen from one picture, but what about behaviour, movement, soundness, teeth, etcetera, etcetera?

In this digital era, we have the feeling that the personal contact that is so essential to us, will come second in stead of first. That is why we always encourage people to pay us a visit, meet us at shows or go see our dogs at dog shows. Ask around with the owners of our Bull Terriers, we don’t mind, because we have nothing to hide. To us that is the best way to find out who we are and what we stand for. All of the Bull Terriers that you will find on this site (except the puppy page and the picture gallery) are displayed without any editing but cutting out the pictures and placing them all in the same background without any other objects that will only distract you. This is only meant to give you an impression and a good comparison, but the best is to see and experience our Bull Terriers for real! Fortunately the current fast internet connections and websites also allow placing streaming video footage. We hope to add this in the near future.
